East London Late Starters Orchestra

21 Jul

In my last year at ELLSO, a lovely film student by the name of Ed Houghton made a short documentary about this great adult teaching orchestra. You can see me in the cello section – front row, outside chair. Remember, contact them now to join in September – no previous music experience necessary.

Great film — and a fantastic orchestra! Amazing–and moving–to see music at work in a community like that and hear ordinary people speak about what it means in their lives!
I’m an adult beginner too — and if I ever move back to London I’d love to join! (I’ve just been playing this summer in the San Francisco Civic Symphony’s string orchestra workshop.)
    Good luck with the prelude!

They are a great organisation, definitely check them out if you find yourself living here again!
